Our Story

The Wild English Home began with a love of beautiful things and lots of ideas!

I studied textiles at university and went on to work in homeware design before moving into PR and marketing. I’ve always loved interiors, fabrics and colour, and for years I’ve had endless ideas for things I wanted to design and have made myself.

After moving from London to the Hampshire countryside with my family three years ago, I finally decided it was time to do something with all those ideas — and The Wild English Home was born.

With long-standing connections to Africa, it felt very special to have the collection made there. Our table linens are printed and sewn by talented makers in Zambia through the Africa Block Project, an initiative founded to empower women by teaching them the craft of Indian block printing, developing artisan skills and creating employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.

Our cane pieces are handwoven in Malawi, where cane weaving provides skilled work and an important source of income for local communities. Each piece is made by hand using skills that have been passed down through generations, helping to keep these techniques alive while supporting the families who make them.

I love that the things I have imagined here in Hampshire are being brought to life by these incredible makers in Zambia and Malawi.

Everything is made by hand, so no two pieces are quite the same. Those little variations are part of what makes them so special.

I hope you enjoy using them around your home and your table for years to come.
